Sports Premium

Sport plays a big part at Busbridge Infant School. Our sports’ co-ordinator ensures all children participate in a wide range of sporting challenges both for competition and for enjoyment. Our sporting activities include swimming, football, tag rugby, volleyball, tennis, cricket, gymnastics, multi-skills, athletics and rounders. We are committed to promoting healthy lifestyles and to providing fulfilling, active experiences at school so that children want to further pursue an active life outside and beyond their time at Busbridge Infant School.

Busbridge Infant School is committed to using the PE and Sports premium grant funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport we offer.

Development

Impact

Continuous monitoring, replenishment and updating of sports equipment to support teaching and learning in PE

Children have access to a range of quality equipment to develop their abilities and skills in PE

Investment in the future sustainability of the PE curriculum through teacher training

Opportunities for teachers to observe experienced members of staff teaching PE leading to improved knowledge and understanding of the different aspects of the PE curriculum

Sports Association subscription

Network of schools providing a wide range of sporting opportunities in which children can participate.

Release time for teachers and funding to enable children to access a range of sporting fixtures and events,

Increased opportunities for children to take part in sporting events, fixtures and tournaments.

Continual Professional Development for PE Curriculum Leader

PE Curriculum leader has an up-to-date and accurate knowledge of the PE curriculum in order to disseminate best practice amongst the staff and develop sport across the Academy Trust.
